When does Velone V1 ship?

We're currently in pre-order. We'll email every customer with a confirmed shipping date as soon as we have one. You can also join the waitlist below to be the first to know.

Is Velone V1 waterproof?

Yes. The device is rated IP67 — sealed against rain, splashes, and short submersion in shallow water. Designed for daily commuting in any weather.

Which handlebar mount does Velone V1 use?

We are still finalising the mount system and will announce it before ordering opens. Because Velone V1 is heavier than a typical bike computer, we are choosing the mount for reliability above everything else. A mount is not included in the box.

How long does the battery last?

Standby lasts extremely long. In normal operation without lighting the device runs for 2–3 months; with lighting, over 7 hours. The built-in powerbank can also charge your phone on the go.

Is the front light StVZO-compliant?

Not yet — we are still working on StVZO certification. The integrated 500 lm front light is designed to meet the requirements; we'll update this page (and notify the waitlist) as soon as certification is complete.

What happens if my bike is stolen?

If your bike is moved while your paired phone is nearby, you get an alert on your phone. The anti-theft alarm triggers automatically when motion is detected without your authenticated phone nearby. The device also stays locked without your phone, so a thief can't reset or reuse it.

How do I get a refund or send it back?

EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from delivery. Email us at info@velone.de with your order number and we'll send a return label. We'll refund the full amount within 14 days of receiving the device.

The box contains the Velone V1 device and a quick-start guide with multilingual safety notes. A handlebar mount is not included — see the mount question above.

Frequently asked questions

Partly. Front light, bell, anti-theft alarm, world clock, timer, and powerbank work fully offline on the device itself. The phone (with the app) is needed for live ride metrics (speed, cadence, heart rate, power — collected by the phone via Bluetooth from sensors, then forwarded to the device for display) and for navigation (route planning happens in the app; turn-by-turn directions and your live position are then shown on the device). The app is also used for configuration (volume, brightness, timer presets).

About Velone

Velone started with a loss.

In 2019, my bicycle was stolen at a train station. This incident highlighted not only the loss of the property itself, but also the associated inconvenience and the vulnerability of relying on essential items for daily life.

Back then, I worked as an electronics engineer in the automotive industry, on vehicle electronics—layers of hardware and firmware that must meet safety and regulatory requirements, interoperate under real driving conditions, and stay dependable over years of use. That world is objectively more complex than the electronics we usually mount on a bicycle. Yet when I looked at how people actually rode and what cluttered their handlebars, I saw something quite different: today's bikes feature handlebars crowded with various separate devices.

A bike computer
A front light
A bell
An anti-theft alarm

Each with its own battery. Its own mount. Its own charger. Beyond cycling, our daily routines also depend on essential tools:

Portable power
Time awareness
Timers for structured work and training

Most of these functions already exist on smartphones. But smartphones are general-purpose devices. Using features like timers or structured routines requires unlocking the phone, opening an app, navigating to the function, and interacting with the screen. It works — but it demands attention. Notifications appear. Other apps compete for focus. Battery drains. It all begins to seem unnecessary.

As an engineer, I kept asking myself: If a car can bring that much together in one package, why can't essential tools live in one cycling device? I began with a simple goal — build a better anti-theft system. But the deeper I worked on it, the clearer the opportunity became. Why not integrate everything?

That idea became Velone.

Over the past several years, I steadily developed this vision alongside my professional work. I designed the hardware architecture from scratch. I built the firmware myself. Advanced power management, adaptable configuration options, comprehensive functionalities, and intuitive operation. No unnecessary redundancy. No wasted energy. The app and mechanical structures were developed with external support — but entirely based on my system concept, technical specifications, and design requirements. After extensive development, testing, and improvement, a fully functional product was finally created. Velone integrates seven key features into one compact, weather-resistant device:

Electronic bell
High-performance front light
Anti-theft alarm
Live ride metrics
Turn-by-turn navigation (patent pending)
Powerbank
World Clock & Pomodoro Timer

One mount. One battery. One integrated system.

Velone is designed to be efficient, intuitive, and purpose-built. In bike computer mode, two buttons cover everything, each with a short, a long and a double press. The left button rings the bell with a short press, switches the light on or off with a long press, and cancels the lap count with a double press. The right button switches between live metrics and navigation with a short press, starts or pauses recording with a long press, and starts a new lap with a double press. Outside the cycling season, it keeps working on your desk as a Pomodoro timer or as a world clock that shows up to three time zones at once. In timer mode, standing it up starts timing, and laying it down pauses it. No unlocking. No searching. No unnecessary interaction. And when connected to your phone, all ride data and routines sync automatically in the background. Velone doesn't replace your smartphone. It offloads the essentials. It simplifies your cockpit. It reduces friction. It integrates daily tools into one intelligent companion.

Velone — everything you need, in one device.

It guides your ride and supports your life.
